It didn’t take long before the band was packing clubs with their own headlining shows. NIHIL’s live show has progressed from themed events to more recently, a high energy, in your face, visual assault.

NIHIL embodied a simple musical concept from the start, combining heavy aggressive guitars, moody techno-style keyboard sequencing and crushing drums with vocals that range from harsh to melodically haunting. With this winning combination, NIHIL created an original yet accessible powerful sonic experience.

In 1997, NIHIL completed their first U.S. tour, performing several southwest dates with Texas's Terminal 46 and Evil Mothers. Later that year SlipDisc/Mercury Records signed a recording deal with NIHIL and released a re-mastered version of Drown containing several bonus tracks. This national release gained the band attention from College radio and Loud Rock stations around the country. In the late summer of 1998, NIHIL hit the road with L.A. based 16 Volt for an extensive two month U.S. tour, encompassing twenty-three major cities.

Several different NIHIL tracks have received radio airplay since the release of DROWN. NIHIL's sound has reached many different markets throughout the U.S., including Phoenix, New York, Chicago, California, Massachusetts, Mississippi, and New Mexico. NIHIL has also gained international popularity in Canada, South America, and Europe. In addition to heavy play of the CD DROWN in underground clubs nationwide, the track Lost reached the number one position on KDVS in Davis, CA. NIHIL has already appeared on two national compilations: The Vault, and Scorched Earth Records. With two professional albums, extensive national touring, and a previous major label recording deal under their belt, NIHIL has gained the necessary experience to rise to the next level.

Hollow, the energetic follow-up to the 1996 release of Drown proves that NIHIL is constantly growing as a band. Hollow deals with issues ranging from divorce (“Scabs”) to suicide (“Final”) and even multiple personality disorders (“The Only One”). Recorded and mixed at a Pecan Ranch outside of El Paso, Texas, Hollow demonstrates the band’s serious approach to music. Grammy winning producer Neil Kernon (Queensryche, Skrew, Dokken, Peter Gabriel) once again produced and mixed the sophomore release.

The band was conceived in 1994 by Scott Crowley and quickly began playing shows with such national acts as Godflesh, Front 242, Coal Chamber, Cubanate, 16 Volt, Genitorturers, Evil Mothers, The Electric Hellfire Club and many others.

NIHIL captured many new, dedicated fans, and gathered the attention of radio and press in those markets. NIHIL strongly believes in self-promotion through extensive touring and fan interaction.

In late 1999, SlipDisc closed its doors due to financial problems and NIHIL was once again a free agent. This hindrance did not slow the band down; they continued to play shows to promote the album Drown, while working on new material. In the wake of the Columbine incident, NIHIL headlined a benefit concert to help raise awareness of student violence in schools.

In the first quarter of 2000, NIHIL featured four new tracks on an online video game from VR-1. "Nomads of Klanth" released on America Online, featured the latest in gaming technology and contained music exclusively by NIHIL. This signified the beginning of an impressive future for NIHIL in the gaming industry.
